The WTA has decided to include the performance of players from March 2019 to December 2020, while improving its ranking system.
While counting the ranking points, the players will have 16 best results in singles and 11 best results in doubles during this time period. It usually includes 52 weeks of results.
Players, however, cannot include the results of any competition played twice in both the 2019 and 2020 years. The ATP Tour made similar changes earlier this week. The rankings of both these tours have been stable since March 16 due to the corona virus epidemic. Both tours will begin in August. The WTA has added two new tournaments to the Prague Open in the Czech Republic and the Top Seed Open in Kentucky in its potential program.
