Ayushmann said, “I have always tried to choose films that have no reference point and I have done so intentionally. I have given films that will influence to bring a change in the attitude of people and society. ”
In the eight years spent in Bollywood, Ayushmann played the role of a sperm donor in the first film ‘Vicky Donor’. After this, in ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’ played the character of a person with a physical defect. A strong-headed police officer in ‘Article 15’ and a gay lover in ‘Shubh Mangal more careful’. ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ and ‘Bala’ are superb films made on issues related to body shape-type. He says, “These so-called taboo topics were hardly touched by our industry because we generally deliberately decline to speak publicly about such issues.”
Ayushmann wants society and Bollywood to be more vocal on such important issues. He said, “We are not very vocal about some important and real issues that we should really talk about and do many times. I have always felt that if we come forward on such topics, it will help to develop as a country. ” Ayushmann says that he will continue his journey for ‘positive change’ even further.
