India and South Africa can play a series of three T20 international matches in late August under the pre-settlement agreement after the situation created due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.
Right now the program of this series is scheduled in late August. Hindustan had to play the ODI series against South Africa in March, but that series had to be postponed due to Corona virus.
Acting Chief Executive of Cricket South Africa (CSA) Jock Fall said that the Cricket Board of India and CSA did not have any disagreement in its conduct even at later dates. Fall said on Thursday that India wants to honor its agreement. If this series gets postponed then it can be held later. BCCI agreeing on this bilateral series means that if it tries to organize the Indian Premier League (IPL) in October-November instead of the T20 World Cup, it will get the support of CSA.
The CSA officer said that we had a very good dialogue with him (BCCI). This series will depend on the approval of the government of both the countries of India and South Africa. Fall said that he has started the process of getting approval from the South African government. The South African Cricket Board said that he is busy setting new dates for the series. South Africa has to do during the West Indies before this tour.
For the series from India, he will have to keep pace with the dates of the West Indies tour. Earlier, the South African team also had to tour Sri Lanka for the ODI series, which they have already postponed. Graeme Smith, Director of the South Africa Cricket Board, said that the African Cricket Board is in constant contact with the BCCI for this series. Smith told that we have talked to him and he has agreed to play a series of three T20 matches.
The former South African captain said that there will be a slight yes-no situation for the tour, as no one knows what things will be like by the end of August. A BCCI officer, on the condition of confidentiality, said that government approval Only after getting this series is expected. He said that first we have to put players in the adaptation camp in the Green Zone. Certainly if things move on the right path, we will play in South Africa.
