Sports Authority of India (SAI) said in a press release that the women’s coach informed the results of her test on Thursday but she had not come in contact with any shooter so that the facilities of the range would be kept open for training.
The Karni Singh range was opened on July 8. According to Sai’s statement, ‘Koch went to the administrative department of the center on 24 July 2020. She did not go to the shooting range nor did she talk to any athlete training at the center. It was said that all steps have been taken as per protocol. The center has been sanitized so that the training of the shooters will not be affected.
The Olympic core group of 34 Indian shooters will return to training in the range from August 1 as the National Rifle Association of India has made it necessary. A total of 15 Indian shooters have qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games postponed until next year due to the epidemic.
