Cricket Australia’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has admitted that the ICC T20 World Cup to be held this year is risky.
Robtar told reporters via video call on Friday, ‘Obviously we are all expecting the tournament to be in October-November as per schedule, but it is too risky. If the event does not happen then there is a possible window in February-March or October-November next year. ‘
The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November this year, but the tournament is under cloud due to the earthquake in the cricket calendar due to Coronavirus. However, Robters made it clear that a final decision had to be taken. The ICC held a meeting on 28 May and it was expected that a decision would be taken regarding the T20 World Cup but all the issues of this meeting have been postponed till the next meeting on 10 June.
