Asia’s first world champion runner Salwa Eid Nasser temporarily banned

Asia’s first world champion runner Salwa Eid Nasser has been temporarily banned. He did not give samples for dope. According to the Athletics Integrity Unit, if charges of doping are proved on Nasser, he could be banned for two years.

Nasser was born in Nigeria, but in 2014 he took citizenship of Bahrain. Since then, she is leading Bahrain at the international level.

Became world champion last year
Nasser became the world champion in the 400 meter race last year with 48.14 seconds. This was the fastest record by any woman since 1985. Overall they are behind only Marita Koch (47.60) and Jarmila Kratochivalova (47.99).

Nasser won gold medals at the 2015 World Youth Championship Athletics and 2015 Military World Games. Won silver medal in 2017 World Championship. He won gold at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, taking a record time of 50.09 seconds.
