Asked whether being a popular face in protest helps the social cause, Mehndi told IANS, “It’s important to raise one’s voice and many do. It’s a good thing. But it’s not going to help Is. Many farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been opposing the three central agricultural laws passed on the borders of Delhi from 26 November last year to September last year. During the 10th round of talks to end the deadlock between the government and farmer leaders, the former has proposed postponing the three agricultural laws for a year and a half.
