American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams has been cleared for allegedly sending a sexual message to a young female fan following an FBI investigation. The website page Six quoted a source as saying, “Ultimately, the FBI did not find any evidence that would help Ryan charge him with the crime and close his investigation in the fall of 2019.” In 2019, The New York Times reported that it had seen “extensive communication” between Adams and the fan, which went by the pseudonym “Ava”. Army Hammer reportedly reacted to the leaked sex chat online saying, ‘I’m not going to answer these crap * t claims’
He communicated on various platforms including Twitter, where he sent direct messages. They allegedly started talking when Ava was 14, and by the age of 16, more than 3,000 text messages had been sent between the two. There were also candid photos that Ava was sent to the star. Although they never met in person, Ava also claimed that they had video call chats on Skype. Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons feels his sexuality helped him become a better actor
Adams reportedly asked the budding player, Ava, about his age. In November 2014 she wrote, “Am I a crazy side,” when she was 40 and she was 16, the Times claimed, “show me you’re 18.” Ava, now believed to be 21 years old, replied that she was older than him. However, he never showed his identity. Adams denied, through his lawyer Andrew Breitler, that he “had ever engaged in inappropriate online sexual communication with anyone he knew”.
