Mumbai, January 4: Tollywood actress Shweta Kumari was arrested on Monday in connection with a raid at a party in Mumbai where authorities seized 400 grams of hard drugs. He was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which has recently been investigating several actors in Bollywood and Tollywood regarding his alleged role in the supply and demand for banned substances.
Narcotics Control Bureau, Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai said, “Kannada actor Shweta Kumari was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today in connection with the seizure of 400 grams of mephedrone (MD) on 2 January.” Tollywood actress escapes from NCB custody in Mumbai, hunt launched.
The raid was conducted by the NCB at a hotel in Mira Road area of Mumbai on Saturday. A drug peddler was identified as Chand, and another supplier Saeed was arrested after the raid. On Sunday, similar action was launched at other locations in the western suburb of Mumbai.
Shweta Kumari is the third leading Kannada actress to be arrested by the NCB. Earlier, Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjana Galrani were arrested by the Anti-Substance Panel. Galarani was granted bail last month.
