Biden introduced Miguel Cardona, his education secretary nominee

WASHINGTON – President-elect Joe Biden will introduce his candidate for the public to Miguel Cardona, secretary of education.

Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris will present Cardena at an event in Wilmington, Delaware at 11:15 am ET. Cardona currently serves as the Commissioner of Education in Connecticut.

In other transition news:

  • President Donald Trump will travel to Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday afternoon for a holiday with first lady Melania Trump, but otherwise has no schedule on her schedule. The Vice-President’s Wednesday program has no public function.
  • On Tuesday evening, Trump issued an apology to 15 people, including former campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, along with Republican former Reps. Duncan Hunter of California and Chris Collins of New York and four former Blackwater contractors.
  • In a surprise move, Trump said in a video posted on Twitter on Tuesday evening that he wanted changes to the Kovid-19 relief package passed by Congress earlier this week after months of deadlock talks. He said he wants the lawmakers to raise the $ 600 direct payment in the bill to $ 2,000 for individuals and $ 4,000 for couples.

Trump predicted in a tweet Tuesday night that Sen. John Thune, RSD, would be primed in 2022 and called him “Mitch’s Boy.” Thune told reporters on Monday that any attempt to challenge the Electoral College’s certificate in the Senate would “go down like a pill dog”.
