“The Great Pumpkin” never appeared on broadcast television this year, but following an agreement with PBS, Charlie Brown will return to Thanksgiving and Christmas specials on air.
Last month, Apple TV + became the new home of the beloved Peanut Holiday Special. This caused outrage from viewers, who were accustomed to annual tuning on network TV. Apple offered to stream each special for a few days for free, but it didn’t stop online petitions from collecting hundreds of thousands of signatures.
On Wednesday, Apple rebuffed the backlash, announcing that it teamed up with PBS for an ad-free broadcast of “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (on November 22) and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (on December 13) Worked.
Both specials will also be available for free for three-day windows on Apple TV + (November 25-27 for “Thanks” and December 11-13 for “Christmas”)) For customers, the special will begin in November. 18 and 4 December, respectively.
