Sinabad is recovering from a recent stroke, the family of the stand-up comedian confirmed in a statement to the Associated Press on Monday.
The comedian’s family said, “Sinabad is a light source of love and happiness for many generations.” “As he begins his journey to recovery, we are loyal and optimistic that he will soon bring laughter to our hearts.”
Born David Adkins, who emerged on the comedy scene in the 1990s, Sinabad gained fame with his HBO stand-up special and worked on sitcoms such as “A Different World” and the short-lived “The Sinbad Show”.
He has also appeared in several films, including “Houseguest,” “First Kid” and the Christmas comedy “Jingle All the Way.”
