The modern Austen anthology series from Jane Austen’s novels in the works at The CW


The contemporary remining of Jane Austen’s novels is in the works of modern Austen. The one-hour anthology series will be shown as six modern-day stories. Each season is a different novel, beginning with “Pride and Prejudice”, set in contemporary San Francisco. Scorpion King Reboot in Works at Universal Pictures; Dwayne Johnson to produce the film but will not surprise his lead role

The series comes from Eleanor Burgess, who will serve as writer and executive producer, reports Burgess most recently worked as a writer for the “Perry Mason” series. The Flashdance TV adaptation in the works at Paramount +; Jennifer Beals’ 1983 film rebooting

Austen’s works have often been adapted for both film and television. The most popular is “Pride and Prejudice”, which has been adapted into several television series as well as feature films. It was recently turned into a feature film in 2005, with Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennett, Rupert Friend as Mr. Wickham, and Matthew McPhaden as Mr. Darcy.
